Give each arrival a place

Keys go on a dry surface, everyday shoes on a low rack, and muddy footwear on a separate tray. The jobs stay easy to recognise.

Keep only the pairs in use

Move occasional shoes to existing storage. A low rack stays useful when it holds the pairs you reach for each day.

Work with an existing surface

Use a stable console or shelf for the key dish. The shopping pieces are freestanding; the pictured console and mirror are not part of the shopping list.

Will it work in your room?

  1. Open the entrance and internal doors fully, then mark the route you need to walk through. Keep shoes, tray rims and furniture outside it.
  2. For the SONGMICS rack, allow 68.5cm width and 27.5cm depth, plus shoe overhang. The empty rack is 37cm high; top-shelf shoes and your hand need additional space.
  3. Under a console, measure the clear width between its legs and the space below its apron or braces. Check you can remove the largest pair of shoes. Put the rack beside the console if access is tight.

A rack saves stacking space; a shoe tray contains muddy footwear. A narrow hall may need just one, or neither.

For a tighter space

Keep a key dish by the door and move shoes into a nearby cupboard. A predictable place for daily things matters more than fitting every piece into the hall.

Comfort, access & trade-offs

Low shoe storage involves bending. Use a position you can reach comfortably, and suitable seating elsewhere if you need support when putting shoes on. The rack is not a seat.

When to leave a piece out

Leave out floor storage that restricts the route or door swing. Freestanding accessories do not remove the need to use any existing console or other furniture according to its own stability instructions.
